De forma inédita y contra todo pronóstico,, los Emmy 2020 se llevaron a cabo a través de una ceremonia virtual, y aunque la distancia y la lejanía anunciaban una ceremonia sin corazón e incómoda, en realidad Jimmy Kimmel logró amenizar las premiaciones gracias a las 140 cámaras que los premios pusieron alrededor del mundo, y todo mejoró cuando llegaron las grandes sorpresas.
Zendaya acaba de pasar a la historia como la actriz más joven en llevarse a casa el galardón como Mejor Actriz en Serie Dramática. Mientras tanto, Watchmen se posicionó como la mejor serie limitada de drama a la par de Succession, quien se llevó el galardón a Mejor Serie Dramática. Y sin duda, el show canadiense Schitt’s Creek también dejó su marca en la 72 entrega de los Emmy al ser la primera serie en llevarse todos los premios de las categorías de comedia.
